Introduction of IPA
Is this where you put this let me know if it isn’t lol. How do you plan on doing this?? In your long term plans, you have ‘ Add IPA pronunciations to terms.’ How do you plan to do this? What is your thinking about what it will look like, Etc. MagicalManager (talk)
- I was contemplating either to have it aside the term's etymology explanation, or to include it in the infoboxes (like Template:Gender). It's hard to know whether that'll look/work well or not until I see a proof of concept, but we can always adjust things later if need be.
- Would also add a section to the rules about how it should be formatted, what we would do in terms of regional differences (like British vs American pronunciation) - whether to include both or only include whatever the most commonly spoken variant is. The rules can also include resources like English text -> IPA translators, to help editors who aren't familiar with the phonetic alphabet. - Ah okay, so sort of like how the MOGAI wiki used to do it? I can see how you could potentially do it, I like that idea. All good ideas, I wonder whether having them in the info boxes would be easiest? How many individuals are going to look at the etymology tab? There would be a few but still not many, and so maybe it would be best in the info boxes? Still, it is a long term thing. MagicalManager (talk)

Flags by Controversial Creator I hope this is what you mean by "talk to you", if it's not then I apologize. I've been working on the orchid (orientation) page, and I would like to ask if the policy is to upload flags regardless of who the creator is, or if controversial creators should be avoided. There is a second orchidromantic flag on the Miraheze wiki, but it is by Caprisunsandgushers. Should I upload it and put it on the orchid (orientation) page anyway? I don't have an opinion either way; I'll go with whatever is consensus. - Net
- Sure is! But yes, we will upload all flags as long as the flag itself is either in good-faith or for educational/historical purposes (basically just anything that isn't an immediate troll). Clarification of Terminology Hello! I would like to ask a question on the wiki definition of an "opposite" related term, and hopefully get some clarification. In the examples given in the "creating pages" page, man and woman, along with masc and fem, are described as "opposing" genders/concepts. I disagree that man and woman are any more opposing than any pair of random genders, ex.) man and neutrois, woman and maverique, catgender and kenochoric, etc. I don't follow LGBTQ+ community discussions often, so I do not know how this opinion compares to others'. By "opposing", do you mean any other gender? Or is the concept of an "opposite" something I'm misunderstanding? I don't know what I don't know, as they say, and I'd be grateful if you could fill in any holes in my knowledge. - Net (June 23 2023)
- Opposite is in the term of 'the other side' so to speak. For some non gender examples, think.. wet and dry, black and white, Traditionally, by binary standards, men and women are oppposite. They are obviously not entirely opposite beings, but the general concept is that men are on one side of the binary, and women are on the other. Because yes, you're right, technically the true opposite of a man would simply be a non-man. Many do debate that women and men are not opposite, or at least shouldn't be considered an opposite. But I think, for the point of saying hell to the whole binary thing, it may be a good idea to not address them as opposites on the wiki. Was thinking maybe to scratch 'opposite' entirely, or at least merge it with Anti. So for example, Allosexual and Asexual would still be considered opposites. Question about possible page deletion
Hi. I noticed that polyamory has a page. I was thinking that maybe it should be deleted because polyamory is not inherently under the LGBT umbrella.
- There are many things on the wikis that aren't inherently LGBT but they are still included because they have a great amount of history in regards to LGBT concepts, and some variants of polyamory are/can be queer.Jeb_CC, Bureaucrat | (xe/xem/xir) (talk) 22:13, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
