Ambiamorous
Ambiamorous is defined as the ability to enjoy both monoamorous and polyamorous relationships with little to no preference between the two, with the prefix ambi- deriving from the Latin word ambo, meaning both.
It is not a type of relationship, but rather a specific inclination one may have towards the dynamics of their own relationships.
History
Ambiamorous was coined sometime before May 11th 2016, by a polyamorous friend of Tumblr user The Moorcat to describe their fluid relationship style.[1]
It was independently coined again on April 17th 2017 by Poly.Land writer Page Turner. The term was proposed in response to controversy that monogamy and polyamory were two ends of a spectrum that do not intersect.[2]

Flags and Symbols
The primary ambiamorous flag was posted via Tumblr blog Beyond MOGAI Pride Flags on 14th April 2019. The colors originate from a redesign of the polyamorous flag, with white alluding to monogamy. The flag uses the Greek letter alpha (a) representing the first letter of ambi-, resembling the relative letters include in the monogamous (μ) and polyamorous (π) designs.[4]
Another ambiamorous flag was coined by Tumblr user sleepygender on March 9th 2020.[5]
