Anaesthetic (shortened to nonae), also known as ansthetic, a-aesthetic (shortened to aae), or nonaesthetic (shortened to nonae) is an orientation defined by experiencing little to no aesthetic attraction, the prefix a- meaning not or lack of in Greek. The ansthetic spectrum (shortned to ae-spec or aespec) is an umbrella term for all ansthetic identities, or a term used by individuals who do not wish to identify themselves with any particular ansthetic microlabel.

Being ansthetic does not mean that one is unable to experience romantic or sexual attraction, but their attraction does not revolve around one's appearance.
