TEMPLATE ENDS HERE
Usage and Parameters
This is a template to create a URL link to a preferred archive site. We currently use https://archive.ph/ and http://web.archive.org/. The default site is archive.today. This exists in the very unlikely case that one of the archival sites are moved to a different domain (which could potentially break majority of the archive links on the wiki). In the case of that happening, the URL would simply need to be changed on this template, which will resolve all other archive links using this template.
Parameter | Description | Type | Status | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Site | Site | The archive site used, either archive.today (today) or web.archive.org (web).
| String | optional |
URL | URL | The archived website URL's long link.
| String | required |
How To:
- Archive the resource using archive.today or web.archive.org.
- Once archived, find the long share link. (In archive.today, refer to Share -> Long link. In web.archive.org, refer to the URL.)
- Copy the text in the long share link, after the domain (copy everything after http://archive.today/ or http://web.archive.org/web/)
- Add the template and input the required variables...
