Parental Attraction and Orientation
Parental Attraction is a form of attraction where one desires to raise a child with a particular individual.[1] It is a subtype of familial attraction. This kind of attraction can sometimes be encompassed by other attractions such as romantic, but is not always. Parental desire is not to be confused with the protective and nurturing attraction one has for a child, often described as tutelary attraction. Parental attraction may include wanting to perform certain actions such as:
- Planning to have a child with another, either via reproduction or adoption
- Raising a child with another
- Care for a child with another
One's pattern of parental attraction towards certain genders typically (but not always) forms that individual's parental orientation. Parental orientations are often identified by the usage of the '-parental' suffix, such as heteroparental, or biparental.
An individual who regularly experiences parental attraction would be alloparental. Someone who does not regularly experience parental attraction may be aparental or nonparental.
A parental desire for another individual may be called a prush or a prash.
Parental attraction is not simply wanting to have sex with someone or experiencing sexual attraction. Someone who experiences parental attraction wants to raise a child with their partner(s), and it's also important to note that they may want to adopt a child rather than bear one.

The yellow represents the childish and carelessness of children, the dark blue represents the trust and loyalty needed for a healthy parenthood, and the pink represents the the passion and love you feel towards one's co-parent and the child they raise together.
