Bellus (orientation)
Bellus is an orientation prefix describing individuals that enjoy participating in relationship-oriented activities but do not want a relationship, the prefix bellus- deriving from the Latin word bella meaning beauty.[1][2][3] A bellus individual may enjoy or desire these activities in non-relationship contexts but not enjoy them in the context of a relationship. Although it is most commonly used by aromantic and asexual individuals, the original creator did not intend for the term to imply any specific romantic or sexual orientation.[1] Despite this fact, it is often used and implied in a way that the bellus individual must be on the anattractional spectrum.[4][5]
History
Bellussexual has been used since at least 2017.[2] Bellusromantic was potentially coined (or recoined) by Tumblr user mogai-lexicon on or before the 30th of April, 2017.[1] Bellusromantic has been used since at least 2015.[6]

The original bellusromantic flag was created by an anonymous user on or before the 26th of June, 2016, published by the pride-color-schemes Tumblr account. On the same day, pride-color-schemes created the alternate flag, with colors inspired by the original flag.[7]
