Polar- is an orientation prefix that describes someone who swaps between feeling extreme amounts of attraction to none at all and/or repulsion.

History
Polarromantic and polarsexual were coined by an unknown individual on or before July 4, 2016. On July 4, 2016, Tumblr user pride-color-schemes posted polar- and some polarromantic and polarsexual flags.[1]
Polararoace was coined on or before June 8, 2021. On June 8, 2021, Tumblr user themogaidragon coined the polararoace flags on behalf of an anonymous Tumblr user.[2]
